Genesis 1:27 tells us that all men are made in the image of God. Every good thing comes from our Father God.
The best example we have in the Bible is Jesus. Although Jesus was perfect, He never lost touch with humanity. He never forgot the beauty that is inside every God given person. Jesus always saw the person. No matter who came to Him, He always looked past the outward stigma and saw the worth that was within them.
Mark 10:46-52 tells the story of blind Bartimaeus. He was a beggar. As Jesus came by, he yelled out to Jesus for help. Everyone told him to be quiet, but he yelled all the louder. He got Jesus’ attention and Jesus called him. Jesus asked Bartimaeus what he wanted. Bartimaeus said, “I want my sight restored.” This reveals that he wasn’t born blind. He had once seen the beauty around him and he was once again longing to see it.
This week, get the courage to call out to God. Say, “God, open my eyes, I want to see the beauty that is around me.”
